Our outstanding science teachers, Mr. Jim Remillard and Mrs. Meg Wile, recently took sophomore students in Honors Chemistry and Marine Science to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute for some high-tech input and demonstration. The USGS described who the USGS is and what they do, provided perspective about the Catholic church and science, and a demonstrated the 3-D tools used to map and explore the ocean on their "geo-wall". At the WHOI Ocean Research Exhibit Center, students learned about deep sea vehicles and research protocols. It was a great learning opportunity with first-class presenters and information.
